The season: Universitatea Craiova entered the 2026/27 campaign as defending SuperLiga champions — their first league title in 35 years — and Cupa României winners, completing a historic double. Under Portuguese head coach Filipe Coelho, the ?tiin?a have started strong, sitting third in SuperLiga with 20 points from 10 matches, scoring 24 goals and conceding just 9. Club captain Nicu?or Bancu leads the side, with Alexandru Cicâld?u and Alexandru Maxim providing the creative spark in midfield. Craiova also returned to the UEFA Champions League preliminary rounds for the first time in decades, opening their European campaign against ML Vitebsk in July 2026.
The kit: Released on July 6, 2026, this is the latest home edition in the club's long-running kit partnership. The launch was unveiled through an AI-generated video that brought club legends Ilie Balaci and Ion Oblemenco back to the Stadionul Ion Oblemenco — a presentation the club described as “history written together, worn in white and blue.” The five framed elements between the chest logo and the club crest tell the story of the Five Elements of Nature, each one generating, feeding, or transforming the next: Wood for continuity and life, Fire for Oblemenco's legendary strikes, Earth for the bond between player and pitch, Metal for resilience through time, and Water for the supporters' breath rising into the night sky.
